Aquila Power Catamarans will stand the Hydro Glide Foil System of its 42 and 46 Coupe models.
Aquila Power Catamarans will present two new models, 42 and 46 Coupé Power Catamarans at the Miami International Boat Show of February 2025.
Both Coupe models come standard with the Aquila Hydro Glide Foil System ™, a fixture carbon fiber sheet that was previously available as an option in some selected models.
“When we started developing the Coupe series, we knew that we should include the sheets as an option for the owners,” says Jean Raas, product director and Executive Director of Aquila USA.
“We learned a lot about the experience of offering the Hydro Glide Foil System ™ in our 36 sports catamaranes.
Getting the correct way was an extensive proof and experimentation process, but the performance gains we saw in those ships were incredible, up to 35% of improved fuel efficiency.
Once we realized how much the Hydro Glide Fail System ™ improves fuel efficiency and driving comfort, we decided to make them standard in the COUPE series. ”
FOILS are not a new concept in ships. However, they are often found in the racing circuit and completely lift the boat out of the water, which requires significant experience and effort to operate.
The dual construction of the power catamaras helps allow the FOIL to extend between the sponsons, effectively raising the boat at a cruise speed without the need for sophisticated controls.
“If you have a monocoque and want to increase your range, the typical solution is to add more engine energy,” says Raas.
“Unfortunately, this adds fuel expenses and maintenance costs.
FOILS are much more effective: improved fuel efficiency means that it can go faster and faster without adding horses of strength. “Raas also pointed out that the sheets are a more sustainable way to increase the range and efficiency.
FOILS work in concert with motor packages, but two external engines in each Coupé model provide as much speed as triple or quadruple tables in similar ships.
Raas says that the decision to make this system standard in the cupes reflect a high degree of trust based on years of research, investment and evidence.
“FOILS are difficult to work and even the material is important,” says Raas, referring to the upper carbon fiber qualities.
“We spend a lot of time and energy doing this well, and now we want to make sure our customers enjoy the benefits.”
On the basis of the success of more than 50 recently launched motor yates, the new Coupe series combines all the fun of an outdoor sports boat with the comforts of the cabin of a yacht, offering an unprecedented usable space that rarely Find on the ships of this size range.
Available with internal and external propulsion and the Aquila Hydro Glide Foil System ™ standard, these elegant and sports catamarans are perfect for one day at the sand bank, one night under the stars or a weekend excursion to an exciting destination.
In addition to the Aquila 42 Coupe and 46 Coupe debut, in the Miami International Boat Shoe, the 54 Yacht, 50 Yacht, 44 Yacht, 42 Yacht, 47 Molokai, 36 Sport and 32 Sport will be shown, offering a wide range of options for enthusiasts of the Boating.
